Saint Francis
There is much in this icon to meditate upon.
Francis floats on the ocean, having conquered the storms of this life. Under his feet are the vanquished Demons of Vanity, Anger and Greed.
Crowning his head are the Virtues; Purity, Justice and Poverty.
The space which surrounds Francis is full of Angels.
In this Icon we see Francis strongly identified with Christ. In loving embrace, he holds his arms out revealing the stigmata.
